The third gender - The new law allows people who do not identify as women or can identify as a man or want to register as “diverse”.

Before the law change, you could only record your gender on the birth certificate as female or male, and this entry was added to your name.


Through an amendment to the Personal Status Act (PStG), people who are not sure whether they are female or male can become Trangender persons from December 31, 2018 Choose the term “diversity”.

The newly introduced §45b PStG regulates the declaration of gender and first names. Since they have the same gender (heterosexual – transgender). 

 

Natural persons can send information to the registry office to have their gender information replaced or deleted in accordance with Section 22 Paragraph 3.

You can have a new name certified or notarized by a registrar. For children under 14 who have no legal rights, Only a legal representative can publish this declaration.

A medical certificate can be issued stating that a developmental disorder exists.

People who cannot provide a medical certificate can opt for this option by submitting an affidavit.
